Traci Blido, Director

Traci Blido is the Director of Economic Development. She is responsible for planning, developing, and directing business and economic development programs and services in the County. She joined Bedford County in August 2011 after working nearly five years as an Economic Development Program Manager at Virginia’s Region 2000 Partnership and Economic Development Council.

Prior to that, Traci worked more than 15 years in the nuclear energy, pulp and paper, and telecommunication industries — including a 10-year stint with Ericsson Inc. where she served as Director of Internal Communications.

Traci holds a bachelor’s degree in Communications from Liberty University and is an active member of the International Economic Development Council and Virginia Economic Development Association.

She serves on the Smith Mountain Lake Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, Virginia’s Region 2000 Workforce Development Board, and is a member/Past President of the Bedford Rotary Club.

Jessica Hupp joined the Office of Economic Development in April, 2014 as Business Programs Coordinator. She previously served as an Administrative and Marketing Coordinator for Central Virginia Surface Solutions, Inc. of Bedford County.

Jessica is responsible for various office management tasks and coordination of the Bedford One Program, including setting up student and teacher tours at local businesses. She provides ongoing support to the Bedford County Economic Development Authority and Bedford County Agricultural Economic Development Advisory Board, and coordinates events and economic development programs with Bedford County businesses.

Ms. Hupp was named to Lynchburg Business Magazine’s 2016 Top 20 under 40 for the region’s top up and coming young professionals. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies from James Madison University. She is a member of the Virginia Economic Development Association and serves on the board of directors for Bedford Main Street.
