Bedford Main Street to launch second Business Bootcamp in August

May 9, 2017

Bedford Main Street (BMS) will be launching its second Bedford Business Bootcamp starting this August. The bootcamp aims to engage entrepreneurs in the region and help them learn how to create and manage a functional business.

Bedford Business Bootcamp, which began last year as an effort of Bedford Main Street to help fill vacant storefronts with viable businesses, will work in conjunction with the Small Business Development Center to facilitate classes tailored to entrepreneurs. It will be a nine-week program that will run from August 24 – October 26, 2017. Those interested in creating or expanding a business in the Town of Bedford are eligible to apply and they will attend classes and enter their business plan into a “pitch” competition on the final night. The winning company will be eligible to receive a grant up to $5,000 to jump-start or expand their business venture. Though the program is geared toward new businesses, existing businesses looking to expand into the Bedford Main Street footprint or town limits are also eligible to participate.
