A unique spin on a popular outdoor pastime called Geocaching is bringing new light to the importance and history of agriculture. Known as “AgCaching”, seekers go on high tech adventures using GPS coordinates to find “hidden treasures” located at operating agricultural businesses and farms. These adventures serve as a way to bring traffic to Agcache hosts, creating an easy way for farmers to connect with their customers, gain instant feedback, and bring attention to their businesses during non-production seasons. Requiring little time and money, AgCaching can give farmers the opportunity to educate their community about agricultural production realities, and put them on the map as an agritourism destination.
